Transition Stakeholders Meeting Held on Wed 30th May, 2012 at Hilton Hotel

The institute for Social Accountability (TISA) held a County Transition Stakeholders meeting on Wednesday 30th May 2012 at Hilton Hotel. The consultative meeting was a validation forum for the Second Status Report on the status of Transition process in Kenya, The report entitled Countdown to Counties: Are We Ready for County Governments is aimed at developing and lobbying for the entrenchment of a strong citizen participation framework in devolved planning, implementation and monitoring from the national to local level. The event was very successful drawing participation from among other stakeholders the PS for ministry of Justice Gichira Kibara, CIC Commissioner Prof Peter Wanyade, Deputy Police Spokesperson Charles Owino, Representative from the Police, IEBC, Media, and Civil Society Organizations. Besides the draft report, you can also find the transition imperatives paper presented by TISA national coordinator Wanjiru Gikonyo and a Press statement on the same.
